In Kenya; Fichua Somo – Kiswahili for ‘unearthing education’ – is an ongoing campaign that creates awareness about the physical and mental needs of students; and seeking to find solutions through partnerships and sponsorships from interested parties. Through Fichua Somo, we mobilize basic educational materials such as books, writing materials, shoes, backpacks, give scholarships, connect volunteer tutors with needy schools and students to offer capacity etc., for primary and secondary students. We also mobilize and give free sanitary towels and products to needy girls from low income households and communities; as well as teach them how to make reusable towels.
